Honey Boo Boo

Hey, This blog is going to be about a new TV show that is sort of controversial. This T.V show had more viewers than Bill Clinton's Democratic National Convention speech the other night
(according to huffingtonpost.com). So you would think that this show would be about something especially important but nope it is about a bunch of fat rednecks. Yep, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo had more ratings than Bill Clinton's speech. Isn't that unbelievable? That says something about what our nation likes to do with our spare time.

For those of you that don't know Honey Boo Boo is a reality T.V show on TLC. It is about a little girl named Alana, who was on Toddlers and Tiaras. What's so special about this one toddler vs all of the other pageant girls? She and her family are overweight rednecks. Each of the family members have their own nickname: Alana is Honey Boo Boo, her sisters names are Lauren (Pumpkin), Jessica (Chubbs) and Anna (Chickadee). Her dad, Mike is known as "Sugar Bear" and her mom, June is known as Mama. Oh, and I can't forget "Glitzy", Alana's pet pig. These aren't the only things you might have trouble with understanding in this show because the family has a deep southern accent. The whole show is about their redneck lives and a behind the scenes to Alana's pageants.

I have seen about three episodes so far of this show. There are a lot of funny moments such as when Alana's pageant coach asks her if she knows who Elvis is and she simply says, "yeah, Santa's helpers". I however find it pretty disturbing that our nation would rather watch a bunch of fat rednecks instead of Bill Clinton's speech. Just having the show air shows that you can make just about anything a T.V show.

When I first read this I instantly thought that I need to blog about this. I would love to hear what you have to say about this. So let me know by commenting, I really appreciate your opinions. If you ever have a topic for me to talk about let me know that as well. Thanks for reading:)
